How does it work?

RypeSync uses the Quickbooks ODBC drivers to access information that will be useful to you in Rype. This includes your existing customers and inventory items. This information is sent to Rype to ensure you don't have to enter anything twice.

You maintain your master data inside Quickbooks for customers and stock and Rype simply grabs the new data once it has been entered. You can always ensure Quickbooks and Rype are up to date.

From Rype you create your time and job related invoices and then send these back into Quickbooks.

Getting Started with RypeSync

  • You will need to have installed Quickbooks & the relevant Quickbooks ODBC driver on your system.
  • Install RypeSync (downloadable from our website - link to download).
  • In the Rype Preferences select OTHER as your Accounting System.
  • Key in the relevant GL Accounts for each transaction type in Rype.
  • Link RypeSync to your Quickbooks software and datafile (including your log in details)
  • Start Syncing!

Things to Know

  • Quickbooks is the owner of all customer and inventory data.
  • Items entered directly into Rype are not synced to Quickbooks.
  • Customers entered directly into Rype are not synced to Quickbooks.
  • Quickbooks Invoices do not sync back into Rype.
  • Rype Payments do not sync back into Quickbooks.
